We present a renovated variant of a scientific attraction with Non-Newtonic fluid: especially for the Polytech Fest it will turn into a musical instrument with a pentatonic scale, that is, with no semitones. Motion detectors transmit the sound of every concrete key to the dynamics. The apparatus solution is based on the open-source platform Arduino, a perfect tool for projecting and developing various electronic devices. Arduino allows you to connect to the computer software through wired and wireless interfaces.

The Pentatonic Scale is a self-sufficient and full interval system. The fact that it is based on the fourths and fifths of this register proves its ancient origin. It is at the heart of traditional of Chinese, Vietnamese, Mongolian, Bashkir, Tartar and Chuvash music, it is found in the European musical folk-lore and Russian calendar ritual songs. Confutianist philosophers believed that the five basic tones have a magical influence on society where the gun tone corresponded to the ruler, the shan tone – to the ministers, the tszue – to the people, the chzhi – to the business and the yui – to the material resourses.

There are fifteen keys in our instrument, which makes three octaves.
